Mersive, a leading provider of visual computing software used to create and manage high performance displays, today announced general availability of Sol Windows 1.0 which further increases the simplicity and speed to deploy and maintain professional, large scale, beyond HD displays. Previous versions of Sol were released on a Linux server, Sol Windows can be run on any PC with a Windows 7, Vista or XP operating system.

Sol revolutionized display setup and maintenance by automatically aligning and calibrating multiple projector images within minutes. Automatic calibration for geometric alignment and per-pixel uniformity eliminate the hot-spotting and visible seams that appear in other multi-projector displays, and at the same time allows the use of commodity display hardware, simplifies installation and reduces maintenance cost. Mersive offers users a complete visual computing software solution that meets the needs of both the world’s most complex displays and more straightforward professional A/V display walls for conference rooms, teleconferencing and collaborative visualization.

Rob Balgley, Mersive CEO said, “By enabling users to install Sol on any Windows-based PC or laptop, we’ve significantly reduced cost, increased ease of use and simplified installation. This will have a direct benefit for our partners and customers who are looking to deploy beyond-HD displays without the traditional complexity and support costs.”

Key features included in Sol Windows 1.0 are:
› Runs on standard Windows PCs
› Works with any set of projectors or video cubes
› Provides geometry, warp, blend and uniformity correction
› Compatible with flat, curved and spherical displays when the full screen is visible from one camera location
› Supports use of Wide Field of View lenses (3.5mm and 2.7mm)
